Description

More than 100,000 enthusiastic fans followed the six days of the 2011 Biathlon World Cup event at Ruhpolding's new Chiemgau Arena, with athletes praising the new and extremely challenging tracks with their steeper ascents and faster descents. The wider tracks made overtaking maneuvers easier, hence making the competition even more interesting.

Despite extreme weather conditions, erecting the R?DER tent landscape took just four weeks and the result was quite a spectacle: A R?DER Solution Highend 30 x 60 m was used as the main VIP tent during the World Cup and offered refuge for up to 1,700 guests each day. 80 % of this tent was fitted with a glass fa?ade, which provided VIP guests with an outstanding view of the sporting events on the starting straight, the shooting gallery and the Omega penalty track. First-rate facilities with kitchens on both floors, a crèche and four sponsor areas provided superlative comfort. Furthermore, the VIP tent was linked to the new main stand.

The cubic tent complex blended excellently into the overall appearance of the new arena. The large 15 x 20 m tent with its solid fa?ade was available to athletes as a "family tent" and was equipped with a kitchen, Internet access for family contact as well as separate rooms for the crews. In the entrance area, a two-story 5 x 40 m tent with four entrance points and ten 4 x 4m Party Tents and a 5 x 5 m Party Tent Highlight were used as entrance checkpoints and for accreditation purposes.
